What We Believe

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God. We believe it is without error in the original writing. We believe that it is the final authority, is without error, and is applicable for our daily lives. 2 Timothy 3:16

God

We believe in one God who exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe in God as creator and sustainer of all things. We believe that God is eternal, holy, and loving. Genesis 1:1, Matthew 28:19

Man

We believe that man was created in the image of God and was designed to be in a loving relationship with God. We believe that because of man’s sinful disobedience, mankind was separated from the loving intimacy that God intended. We believe that mankind’s greatest and deepest need is to be forgiven of sin and restored into a right relationship with God, fulfilling his ultimate purpose, to worship God and fully enjoy Him forever. Jesus

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the second member of the Trinity. We believe that Jesus willingly came to our world as fully man, while continuing to be fully God. We believe that Jesus lived a completely sinless life on our behalf, died a sinner's death in our place, physically rose from the dead, declaring victory over sin and death, and ascended to heaven where He is currently seated at the right hand of God as our advocate and intercessor. Salvation

We believe that salvation involves the redemption of the whole man and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior by faith. Jesus, by His own blood, obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense, salvation includes regeneration, sanctification, and glorification. We believe that Jesus’s sinless life makes us righteous before God, and His substitutionary death removes all our sin. We believe that salvation cannot be earned or purchased and can only be received as a gift from God. Romans 5:1, 1 John 2:1-2,Romans 10:9, Ephesians 2:8-9

Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third member of the Trinity. We believe that the Holy Spirit enters the life of a person when they accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We believe that the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is essential for and evidence of a person’s salvation. We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. We believe that the Holy Spirit gives gifts for serving one another and empowers believers to live holy and effective lives for the glory of God. John 16:8-11, Acts 2:38, Romans 8:9, 1 Peter 4:10

Church

We believe that the church is one body with many members, unified through faith in Jesus. We believe that this church is an independent body and that the New Testament speaks of the church as the body of Christ, which includes all the redeemed of all ages. The Bible commands us not to forsake, or leave behind, our assembling together. Attending and participating in the church provides us a way to fulfill God's commands to serve and love each other. We believe that the church is called to gather together regularly for fellowship, teaching, prayer, and communion. We believe that the church exists to continue the work of Jesus by declaring the gospel, making disciples, and demonstrating God's love to the world. Eternity

We believe that people were created with both body and soul. We believe that after the body dies, the soul of a person continues for eternity. We believe that heaven is the eternal destination for all people who have placed their faith and hope in the person and work of Jesus Christ. We believe that a literal hell is the eternal destination for those who have rejected Jesus as their Lord and Savior. We believe that the day is coming when Jesus will judge both the living and the dead. We believe that God, in His own time and in His own way, will bring the world to its appropriate end. We believe that Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly for His own,and the dead in Christ will be raised to meet Him in the air. We believe that Christians will be judged righteously according to their deeds to either receive or lose rewards, but will live eternally in Heaven with their Lord. We believe that the present Heaven and earth will be destroyed and God will create a new Heaven and a new earth where Christians will live eternally with Him. 1 Peter 1:3-5, Philippians 3:20, 1 Peter 4:5, 2 Timothy 4:1

Baptism

We believe Water Baptism is a matter of obedience, not salvation. Jesus commanded every believer to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:18–20). Baptism serves as a symbol of being buried with Christ and raised to walk in new life in Christ. As such Baptism will be performed on professing believers only (Romans 6:4–6). It does not confer favor from God beyond the blessings that come from obedience to God (Luke 23:43; 1 Corinthians 1:13–17).
